Would releasing the nations in question as vassals and re-annexing them fix this? Or is it impossible to release them because they still "exist"?
I'm fairly certain the game won't let you release them as vassals since the tags already exist. Although I don't know first hand.

Ironman wouldn't prove one didn't cheat, however, or even come close to doing so. It simply makes cheating slightly more difficult and/or tedious to accomplish, depending on method chosen to cheat.
If you can't see why demanding proof is ridiculous (let me see his birth certificate!) then I really can't help you. It's not like the achievement is somehow 'lessened' if he cheated, or is lying, since you can cheat in ironman anyways like themeinteam has said.
You responded to someone addressing ironman usage and why someone should care about ironman usage. Mentioning it directly is irrelevant, you directly addressed that discussion.
I won't respond to your baits after this, just going to leave the discussion by saying that even if the OP cheated, or is seeking attention, demanding 'proof' is ridiculous. Holding up the three mountain achievement on some kind of pedestal is silly.
It is fairly interesting to note that ALL provinces appear to be colonized and that all CNs formed from Ryuku. Normally you don't see this in standard WCs, as people typically inherit CNs with other colors from integrating vassals with CNs or full annexing colonial powers.
Fixed what in a patch? CNs don't magically change color when you become their new overlord.
I think he's a genuine "troll", all his other posts in different threads just show him baiting people around into his lousy arguments.

well were both usually on the same threads but yeah, I agree with you. also his arguments or "points" are usually baseless and opinionated which makes him obvious.
