Does changing the military difficuly have any effect on the performance and strategy of the military AI or does it effect the damage/defense capabilities of your units?

Thanks for the info.

I don't want to sound demeaning here, but the military AI needs work (my appologies to the devs). It's nearly 100% predicitable. It responds almost the same way every time. I take some territory and it sends what it has available at the time to repel the incursion. This makes steamrolling the AI fairly easy.

On another note, the unit pathing, while better after the update, still has a few problems. I see naval units constantly stuck in rivers. This is especialy prevalent with the US. They will have about 30 ships stuck in the Strait of Georgia NW of Seatle. They also get stuck just outside of Juneau and Fairbanks Alaska. I've even seen them stuck in the Long Island Sound.

I know they won't give out the source code for the AI. Is some of the AI functionality LUA scripted? Hearts of Iron had their AI decision making scripted in LUA files so making adjustments was a little simpler for modders. I haven't seen any in the files for SRCW though. It's just a thought. Is there any specific place to make suggestions for AI tweaks?

As Battlegoats isn't a big comany, I think they should be really glad that the community wants to help and should allow it ...

as I already mentioned, the AI is really terrible in all aspects (Military, Economy and Diplomacy )
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?552643-AI-and-economy-Still-nothing

PLEASE BATTLEGOATS, support community members, who want to help in that field.
As I like that game very much, I would be glad if it is selling well , so we could see more development in the future.
One of the key functions is a BASIC AI , which is doing it's thing right WITHOUT cheating ! Seems it isn't cheating at all, but AI is terrible weak !

As I've had some programming experience myself, I know that programming an efficent, well-tuned AI is not an easy task at all. One of the more difficult aspects is balancing AI processing time with AI competence. The smarter you make the AI, the longer it takes to run each cycle. I've seen this game get terribly bogged down after 5 years due to way to many units on the map that the AI has to keep track of, but I do know that the AI can process lightening fast with zero units. I know that there could be some simple tweaks to stop some of the most confusing/anoying AI mis-steps (i.e. contiously moving back a forth between 2 hexes next to a country they're at war with, and not scraping outmoded units).
