I think one of the most interesting features of EUIII as seen in the Demo is that it looks like we will not be so GC focused in playing.
Just one question,
It looks that there are some kind of problems in the "adapting history" procedure. If you set as starting date Jan 1 1499 (maybe I am wrong for the year, can be 1500 or 1501) you have a Milan hardly beaten by the French, with half of the provinces occupied and Genua already in French territory.
If you start from dec 31 1498, I mead the day before, you are at peace, with Genua in your hands and if you play, you are not even attacked by France.
Is this a Demo issue or is it going to be the same in the REAL game?

All such things would have to be scripted into the history files. It can be done with as much detail as desired, but considering the scale of the game and the huge number of history files, it simply wasn't possible to track each and every country on a day-by-day basis (particularly since you have to make sure that no conflicts arise by having two countries with slightly different history files).

I suspect that there will be mods that further flesh out the history file in increasing detail (and if they're good it's possible that Paradox would add them to the official version of the game) but for the time being at least, there will be some situations like this that are a little odd when examined by comparing two adjacent dates.

I understand it.
It looks like a very nice sistem, really: good system for alternate History

thanks
