How will service coverage will be implemented? By this I mean police, fire, health, education etc. Will it be radius, travel time from facility, facility capacity or a mix?

If it is radius, can we please have a realistic radius of coverage? It's irked me that nearly every city builder in history seems to need multiple services to cover a small town of 4km sq.

If I remember right, they mentioned that they will not have radii on public service buildings. I think they will be based on travel time and capacity.

Right now, yes, this is pretty much how it's done. I am pretty sure we're planning to give more info on this relatively soon :)

Sorry about the time between posts -real life has a habit of getting in the way.

That is good news but just to clarify, does that mean that a single service can provide service to the whole map (taking out factors such as capacity).

My view is, using medical services as an example, people living close to a clinic or hospital get easy access to healthcare = less time sick = shorter stay in hospital = consumes hospital bed for shorter time. Being out of hospital quicker also means they're back at work quicker and paying taxes.

Someone who lives far away waits longer for an ambulance = worse condition on arrival at hospital = hospital bed (and ambulance) tied up for longer period of time = longer time not paying taxes.

Ways to negate these penalties would be (obviously) more hospitals, or providing health care clinics, government policies (fruit and sports in schools for example) and providing the hospital with an air ambulance.

Other services would be similar.
