Two points:

1. Wouldn't it be rational to allow oil to be used for IC production instead of coal, if no coal is available?

2. Is it possible to give us the ability to mod in other resources? I have always wanted to see "food" as a resource (maybe linking shortages to slower manpower growth). That would give some value to "empty" provinces (who needs the grain-producing provinces of Ukraine, if food is not a factor in the game?)

And before anyone says: "consumer goods and supplies are already in", plz read this:

I will point out that when Germany occupied my country, Greece (1941), every community had to hand over a major amount of its food production (FOOD, not supplies or consumer goods produced in factories) which was to be transported to Germany. The result was widespread starvation.
Since WW2 Germans had reasons to consficate food from occupied countries, shouldn't HoI players be given the ability to mod this in?

"mod this in": I don't expect that the team reconstructs the game based to my desires -;)(paradox probably believes that adding a "food" resource would lead to "starvation-warfare" and in-game ghettos). I am just asking that they give modders the "tools" to add "resources".

While I understand the hesitation by the developers, and the possibilities to create war of starvation, by blockades (starving england) and "sanitary cordons" ( remember what Stalin did to Ukraine in the 30' ) I still believe that food as a resource, if cleverly implemented, can add a lot of reality to gameplay.

It would be another factor for player to balance. Required for consumer good creation, required for supplies creation, consumed by idle manpower etc.
If a country like England is blockaded, and lacks food, it cannot satisfy consumer demand and has a high dissent. I'm talking about creating dissent here, not mass anihilation. We have nukes caussing dissent. We even have strategic bombings in HoI3 as part of strategic warfare, giving result to the ar score.

Would add a lot of historical realism. Small Denmark was a major food importer to the Reich, not only the Sund controller. Same with Ukraine, not only high metal and coal mining.
