Hello i'm not sure if this would be the correct place to post this but I have a question about the accuracy of the religion map specifically the 1066 one in regards to Zoroastrianism is correct in the areas it is shown to have a majority. In places like Fars(I think) and the Kingdom of Khiva area. Im
researching Zoroastrianism for a project in one of my classes because I wanted to learn more about it after I had found out in class it was monotheistic when during my games on ck2 I thought it was old Persian religions. I had told my teacher about this and she said if it was pretty accurate to include it on one of my slides. So if someone who may know if the 1066 religion map in that area is pretty good to follow thanks in advance.

Based on prior research I've done, and I apologize that I didn't record the sources when i did the research, but I am pretty sure it is in it's fairly accurate position(maybe a bit generous if anything), as traditionally Zoroaster came from the Balkh(Greek: Baktria) region, and therefore reportedly the faith was strongest there and took the longest for Muslims to push out. But yes it is both monotheistic and it was the state religion of Persia(also in Armenia before Christianity) before the Arab conquests, it wasn't until after the 11th century, that Zoroastrianism began to "really"(they were considered 'dhimmi') become marginalized in Persia.
