I'm playing France, and earlier in the game, my non-aligned France was fighting Axis countries with the Democratic Allies. When that war was successfully concluded, France gained a fair amount of territory in the Balkans at the Peace Conference. The Allies then wanted me to join them in a war against the Soviets, and when I refused, they kicked me out, which led me to join the faction of China et al, called The People's Front. Ultimately, my new faction was attacked by the Allies, and France went to war against them, joined by the Soviets. The Allies had some early success against me in the Balkans, seizing territory I had won at the previous peace conference. Then, while I was busy elsewhere against the Allies, the Soviets took those provinces back. When you examine those provinces now, they still show France as the "owner," but they are controlled by the Soviets. I can't build anything there; they are treated like any other foreign territory that I never owned. The Allies are essentially defeated now, and there will soon be another Peace Conference. What happens to those areas I supposedly own but which are occupied by my Soviet ally? Will they automatically revert to me without any designated act of mine? Will I have to choose them as part of my division of spoils from the war? Or will they automatically become owned by the Soviets without my having any chance to reclaim them?
