Question on India

I'm fairly new to Victoria, (havent upgraded to ricky yet as I thought I'd get to grips with the basics) I own most of the states in India but they all have differing primary cultures so I can't make any of the states?

Is there anything I can do?

you can edit your savegame file to give yourself those cultures so you can make them states

Or you can sell the land to a civilized Asian nation, let the AI convert it into a state (lands on the same continent as your capital can become states even if there are no national cultures present) and then buy back or conquer the lands previously sold, the lands will now be states for you IIRC.

Or you can pray that one province in each state in South Asia eventually gets one of your national cultures as the largest single cultural group - though given India's population that is almost completely impossible to achieve.

Notepad.

Not all computers can handle it, I know, but its what everyone uses...

On that note if you notice that, when trying to mod a very large file, you cant do anything, dont try to. Your computer cant handle it and you might damage the files. I learned that lesson the hard way. o

Don't use NotePad. Worst text editor ... ever! Find some nice freeware editor that handles multiple open files at once of virtually unlimited size, with programming options built-in if possible. I use a program called EditPad, but it's getting a bit long in the tooth now since I've been using it since Windows 95 days. There are many other options out there. Look around a bit and you'll find one that you like.

Then, once you are all set, here is how you replace Notepad with your truly awesome replacement.
