Hi All,
in my current Norway game with a soft aim to get the Norwegian wood achievement I got a lucky PU over Austria.
After 50 years I started to integrate them and when the progress reached ~94% it was reset to ~60ish%. I have no clue why this happened really. Austria was around 180-190 opinion during the whole time (and still hostile ofc). Only thing I can think of, my ruler died a few months before that and the (strong claim) heir replaced him. Other than that I don't think anything happened.
Doe the AI get some decision that approx. halves the integration process (like the idiot monarch modifier thingie) or is it normal that progress on integration takes a huge hit if your current ruler dies?

Cheers

Ruler death should have nothing to do with it. The only thing I can think of is losing a diplo annexation bonus, but the only one of those I can think of comes from influence idea that you would have to cancel. There might be a policy or two that affects it as well. Only other possibility is if they gained more cores.Losing diplo reputation would slow the process down but not affect the percentage integrated.

Thanks for the replies.
Ok, so my ruler didn't affect it. After some more thought I think I figuered it out.
I think my sneaky subject passed the "diplomatic defense act" policy at the 94ish% mark, which gave them +50% core creation cost, the bastard.
