I just performed a royal marriage between Sunni Bengal and Hindu Orissa! Is this a bug, or was it lanned to represent the moderating Sufist influence on Islam in Bengal and relatively good relations?

Well wasn´t it a lot of interfaith marriages in India? Perhaps not a lot but i´m fairly sure it did happen. At least in the higher classes which is what the royal marriage is all about.
Hindu-Muslim marriages weren't that uncommon in India. Quite often a Hindu princess, most notably from the Rajput states (i.e. Jodhpur in EU2) but fairly often from other Hindu states, would marry into a Muslim royal house. I had a RM with Jodhpur as Oman in a beta test game and thought it was a nice historical touch, not a bug. So I don't think it should be changed.
Yeah, that's my question... it is a feature of Sub-continent provinces? Or all Hindu nations?
Dunno. Haven't tried a Malacca - Mataram RM yet. Maybe one of the other beta testers might know. Of course, there aren't too terribly many Hindu nations outside India anyway...
I played the "napoleons ambition" scenario as the USA(reformed) and had a royal marriage with France(catholic). The scenario starts in 1795, did the edict of tolerance already happen or what?
Yes, you're playing 1790 something ie after the time of EU1, and the edict of tolerance already occurred in the EU1 time period (forget the year now so..)
I think it's a nice touch that the Hindu and Islamic nations can marry each other. Otherwise, India would be one very violent hellhole of constant strife...
Will Hindu-Islamic marriages be the only example of this, or are their other examples of interfaith RM's (Between the 3 new types of religons perhaps?) Mostly wondering about SE Asia, and how peaceable/violent they can get with each other....
They can all marry (i guess). As buddhist I could marry sunni and offer marriage to hindu nations at least. (check out my latest AAR here

And quite the AAR it was, too....
It's good to see that marriages are allowed between at least hindu and buddhists, as it was pretty historical for the area for them to marry each other off so they could worry about more important problems(like China....)
BTW, Bhuddists are able to also, as I was able to RM all of India as the Dalai Llama Chicks dig the robes, and the shaved head thing

Unless it's late in the game, you're still the King of Tibet. The Dalai Lama didn't gain temporal power until 1750.
