H39 and H44 (not sure which ones, but both H-class) are the super heavy BB for Germanywill the H-class schips be in the launch version of the game or they will be added leater trough an oficial dlc or not at all ? Please reply and tank you in advance.![]()
The Hindenburg isnt the H39. The Hindenburg is a different design form the H-series of designs, which is a different class of ships in the first place. The Hindenburg was a Battlecruiser design, not a battleship to begin with. The SMS HIndenburg was made form the Derffinger-Class and wasnt a class in itself.Hindenburg is the H39.
I think i remember that thread. Still doesnt make it right tho.Podcat said H39 was named Hindenburg in HOI4 in a thread I made a year or so ago.
I know that 2 H39 were laid down and 4 more ordered but scrapped due to the outbreak of the war. I never said the H39 would be missplaced either, i think it fits quiet well where it is. The weird part is that they did rename the H39 class but not the H41 and H44 tho.The thread was about that H39 is a very strange name as the ship class would never be named such if it was built, it would be like calling Bismarck the F class.
H39 was actually laid down so it make sense for it to be Germany's next generation of battleships, 1944 tech make sense as it would be the time the first of these ships would be completed like Iowa is USA 1944 tech ship. It is just that the game allow you to build battleships very quickly after they are researched.
All 3 are from the Admiral-Hipper-Class, so it is weird that they have those 3 seperated in the first place. Only difference in those 3 ships is the aa-armament, since the Prinz-Eugen has 28 instead of 8 2cm flak-guns. The Admiral-Hipper and the Blücher are basicly the exact same ship. The only difference between those 2 is that the Blücher is 30cm longer and 70cm taller overall. Its basicly like splitting the Bismarck class into the Bismarck class and Tirpitz class.A quick question for all you Kriegsmarine experts out there. Shouldn't the heavy cruisers be in a different order? Admiral Hipper, Blücher and then Prinz Eugen? Not Blücher, Hipper and then Prinz Eugen. Or have understood it all wrong?
Precisely! But I guess the devs though that the difference between the ships made them into different classes. Unfortunately. Ping @podcat Could you please shed some light on this? All 3 are from the Admiral-Hipper-Class, so it is weird that they have those 3 seperated in the first place.
well, the problem is that there werent that many new classes of that time. Got to name them something, i guess.Precisely! But I guess the devs though that the difference between the ships made them into different classes. Unfortunately. Ping @podcat Could you please shed some light on this?
Anyway, sorry for going OT in the thread.

@CarolusRexSWEWell, to be fair, Admiral Hipper was their only class of heavy cruisers.
If you were to pretend that the Panzerschiffe were heavy cruisers, you still only get AH, Deutschland, and P Klasse, so Prinz would still need to make a separate appearance.

This is what i would go with as heavy cruisers. The D class was a planned successor for the Deutschland Class, while the P class was the successor of the D class. There are enough designs to choose from due to the Z-Plan, but most of them werent built, which certainly wont be an issue with HoI IV.
