Question for HOI3 and Vicky 2 owners

I really want this new game, but after my HOI3+SF experience, I have to admit that I am a little hesitant.
How is this game shaping up as far as bugs and playabilty goes, in comparison to HOI3's ongoing problems?
I think it is fair to say that the general mood in the HOI3 forum is one of frustration and disappointment. I feel the same and don't really want to face the same issues all over again with Vicky 2. I hope it runs fairly nicely straight out of the box.
By the time EUIII got to HTTT, it was probally one of the best strategy games out there, so I am hoping it will be the same story for HOI3 eventually, but I am all out of patience now and will not buy Victoria 2 if it has similar problems to HOI3.
I am hoping to hear that it is a real gem of a game on initial release and money well spent.

Was there day 1 for Hearts of Iron III, as well as for Semper Fi. And this release cannot even be compared to those. I have yet to encounter a gamebreaking bug of any sort after playing for five hours straight. There's no crashes, no ridiculous gameplay problems etc. There's a few relatively minor balance issues, but that's about it. It's perfectly playable and a lot of fun.

Great. I am reading some glowing reviews in other threads too.
I don't expect it to be perfect and I expect it to need some minor rebalancing.
I just do not want to see any of the absolutely wacko AI behaviour we still see in HOI3 SF 2.03.
I think I might buy it soon, but perhaps waiting until this semester ends might be a good idea (gaming addiction costs me marks at uni if I let it)

Victoria 2 on release is probably better than HoI3 was after a few patches. Of course that doesn't mean it is perfect - indeed it is need of some more balancing - but it is definitely playable and fun.

Agree completely. It runs fast, no slow poke HOI3 v1 stuff. No crashes, no errors.

I'm pretty impressed.

I have only 1 problem with the game, and that is the anarcho liberal/jacobian rebel spam. Apart from that this game is perfectly playable and enjoyable.

I just had my HOI3 game crash on me again (SF 2.03). I am edging ever closer to becoming a Vicky 2 player going by the reports.
I really like HOI3, but it still has too many AI problems to be any fun. If I can build battleships like I can in HOI3, I'm getting Vicky 2 for sure.
