I was wondering if there will be a "patrol" option for fleets. Say I set my fleet to aggressive and I want them to patrol a specific radius of systems (to destroy hostile fleets), would it be possible to do that without having to manually send them in a specific direction all the time?

This would prevent undefended lone Constructor Ships from sneaking in worm hole stations in your space... which may lead to small escorts to take out those patrols. I like small scale skirmishes, so yes, sign me up.

I was wondering if there will be a "patrol" option for fleets. Say I set my fleet to aggressive and I want them to patrol a specific radius of systems (to destroy hostile fleets), would it be possible to do that without having to manually send them in a specific direction all the time?
I thought the same thing watching the stream. That could be a headache running down all those small ships. A patrol option would stop all that.

Either that or let us make small patrol fleets to give to our sectors to send out hunting raiders and construction ships, at least within the sector. That way we as the play only have to go chasing down lone ships in the area we control directly and can focus most or our attention on meeting the main enemy fleet(s) and conducting the actual invasion/defense.

Agreed. If you can't give auto commands to fleets, please allow us to give small fleets to sectors so that they can take care of the annoying little battles.

I think a patrol sector type of option would be cool. Either by assigning fleets to patrol a sector or you create a patrol route and select the systems. This way you can dictate your fleet to patrol that particular sectors boarder or systems critical to your empire.

Side note: assigning a colony to a fleets route could boost that planets happiness and suppress factions/rebellions?
