I had a question regarding the Defender of the Faith mechanic: Does the DotF still get called into every war on members of that religion?

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Every time a member of another religion attacks the DotF's religion, they will be called to it.
Meh, sadly one of the most silly, ahistorical mechanics of EU3 made its way into EU4. I hope this time it will be possible to mod out.
In order to avoid misunderstanding: I loved the demo, I was a big fan of EU3, CK2 and Vic2 and yeah there are minor things I didn't like, but I'm sure that will not kill my enjoyment. I think in so many ways this will be improvement on EU3.

It didnt work properly, or it worked weirdly, in the demo. I got spammed by a lot of "CB gained" and "CB lost" events and I could hardly EVER declare holy war on anybody.
