Hi, I want to make an event that only fires when I am a count and I have a temple/church in my county. I figured I could do that with any_vassal = ... but I couldn't find out how to check for holding types. Furthermore, later I want to check for buildings in a holding of any of my vassals, is it possible and how?

Have you tried "holding_type"?

But I'd still like to know how to access buildings from character_scope. More exactly I want to see if a specific building like monastery exists?

Going by 00_buildings.txt it looks like has_building works within a title scope.
Try something like any_realm_title = { has_building = tp_monastery_1 }.
I think that should tell you if there's a monastery in any of your own holdings or any of the holdings owned by your direct or indirect vassals.
