So how do I get the Demon Child thing to actually work?

I`m trying to get the Birthright achievement among a few others on the same playtrough but nothing ever happens when the children get to 16 years old.

I`ve had several female rulers that used unholy impregnation on themselves to get a few demon children, I legitimize them (for some obscure reason they are considered bastards when born) and then after this point I tried both dying and playing with the ~demon child~ as he hits 16 and not dying to watch the kid turn 16.

I`ve done this with around 20 kids over the course of 3 games (on each I was hunting different achievements alongside this one) and on none of those attempts did anything ever happen.

I even went as far as creating a non ironman copy of the save to confirm that the child was an actual demon child tag and not ~demon child fake~ tag, it was the case.

On the wiki it says that when the demon child reaches 16 years old they automatically become the leader of ~Lucifer`s own~ and that should trigger the achievement, although on my game I just get regular children with no special events who just so happen to have a demon child tag (which on several cases just disappeared for no reason after a few years might I add).

Also, I did try just reaching high priest(es) rank with said character, no achievement and no difference at all.

So what do I actually have to do to get the achievement?

The achievement only appeared in M&M and is directly related to the society, I highly doubt that it depends on a random event with a VERY LOW chance of even firing such as the SoA event. I'm not saying it isn't, just that I hope it isn't I guess...

Any further input or confirmation is very welcome though.

Well, it has to do with the demon child becoming the head of the satanists, which was definitely added in M&M. And as you've observed, this seems to only apply to SoA demon children

Well... This doesn't make that much sense because that means that "Unholy Impregnation" is not only absolutely useless but actually detrimental every single time it is used, since there are no congenital bonuses or any available alliances or inheritance bonuses, not only that but the child is a black drop bastard, and in addition to all that it requires a female character, which for as much as they are great to play ingame (I actually like them more) are mechanically inferior in every way because of the setting.

The only plausible explanation if that is true is that this is a bug.

Edit: The only positive thing I can think about this is that the woman can get a massive number of children to sacrifice with the other spell, this actually makes sense. It's dull, but it makes sense.

I can see ways to ~cheese~ it, sure.

Although, it would not even be on the top 6 available ~cheeses~ on CK2, so there`s that, as a matter of fact i`m not even sure it is that much of an advantage, specially not so if the previous ruler is not able to both consolidate power and die at the right time (second part is manageable, first one can be tricky depending on the setting).

My problem with it isn`t even that though, the problem is that the spell is just pointless, satanists are still powerful but this makes their last spell be very underwhelming, although the fact that they are bastards is likely a bug that will get fixed (i hope).

I did just get the SoA event for a demon spawn though, the child`s still 0 but I guess it should work this time.

SO if anyone is wondering, unholy impregnation does nothing in favor of the ~Birthright~ achievement, you actually need the random event from Sons of Abraham.

Does it relate to the spawn of satan thing you can do at the high level of the society?

I did it once and the kid just seemed to be normal.

Males can`t use unholy impregnation so thats the only actual way to use it.

Not that having all that extra health is useful in the vast majority of the time.

There is absolutely no ingame reason as to why the child would be automatically a bastard though.
