Question avoid kill Mosolini event

Hello togehter,

I played as Italy and want to restore the Roman Empire. I put the national focus three for all other nations to random. So the game goes total ahistorical.

Germany switched to restore the Kaiser. So long so good.

In 1941, i was in my own fraction, germany does the kill Mosolini event, and they killed him and my idiology switched to neutral and i was part of the german fraction. I had no choice to avoid this event. Is this so correct? That you as germany can switch italy to neutral and put them into your own fraction with only one 70 days focus and italy can do nothing against it?

You are correct, there seems to be no counterplay against the coup (except destroying Germany before it happens).
There is this code comment in the assassination event:

# It is done (no choice needed because decision was taken in previous focus's events)

which seems to indicate this is a bug, because Italy can make no previous choice to prevent getting this event. You can choose to not support the coup in an earlier event, but is does not affect Germany's ability to execute it at all.

Thank you for the quick reaction. befor the coup starts, germany have a other 70 day decission prepare the cupe. I got an decission after this was finished if i want to support the cup. i said no. So i think nothing will happend. Or Maybe Mosolini dies but i get a wargoal against germany. But it seems that its not relevant if i said i support the coup or not.
