In the 44 scenario vichy has been absorbed by germany. Will this also happen in a normal game from 36?

I checked the events and one file is for vichy_france and one is for vichy_new.

In vichy_new there seems to be events for vichy being absorbed into germany. Are both files active or how does it work with two event files for one country?

I tried reading the event but it is pretty complicated. What sets it off?

- both files are active
- the event for Ger getting Vic can happen, but it depends how things are developing
- if it doesn't happen, you could still trigger it manually when you feel like it

The "Dissolution of Vichy" event chain depends on Vichy losing North Africa. There are several other options for VIC in there though, so even if it fires the outcome is not always that Ger inherits Vic.

Trigger for event 992 (Ger):

Code:
trigger = { 			# OR by GER 991 ACT_A
		exists = VIC
		atwar = yes
		event = 979 # FRA West Africa to FF
		NOT = { 	# N.Africa lost
			exists = ALG
			exists = TUN
			control = { province = 950 data = VIC } #Oran
			control = { province = 946 data = VIC } #Algiers
			control = { province = 939 data = VIC } #Tunis
			control = { province = 950 data = GER } #Oran
			control = { province = 946 data = GER } #Algiers
			control = { province = 939 data = GER } #Tunis
			control = { province = 950 data = ITA } #Oran
			control = { province = 946 data = ITA } #Algiers
			control = { province = 939 data = ITA } #Tunis
			alliance = { country = VIC country = GER }
			alliance = { country = VIC country = ENG }
			alliance = { country = FRA country = GER }
			}
		random = 35
		}

Means:

- Vichy must exist, Ger must be at war, and "West Africa to FF" must have fired for Free France before
- Vichy lost control over the provinces given there, Ita or Ger don't have them either
- Algeria, Tunisia don't exist
- Vichy not in an alliance with Ger, Eng
- Free France not allied with Ger
- plus it's randomised a bit

Thank you for the answer. To bad that the free france do not exist anymore...

So to force it happening I have to write "event 992" in the console?

How likely would it be for vichy to join germany if the germans are winning against the allies and russia is already beaten (bp fired)? It wouldnt be to ahistorical right? I might just invade them of course...

You need to enter "event 992 GER" to fire the event above, but as said this will only trigger subsequent events of the chain. In 992, an AI Germany has a 90% chance to select option a), which leads to the Vichy event 993. Here the chance is 99% that Vic chooses to give in to Ger, which triggers event 996 where Ger finally gets Vic :D

In short you can just fire "event 996 GER" in the console directly to let Ger take over Vichy.

Great stuff!

Thanks for the help.

I am trying to play with some reasonable feel for history. I wont invade Britain until their air force and navy are gone (only navy to go). Think I will fire the Vichy event when I set foot in Britain and to illustrate how USA would/should respond I think I will need to declare war on them at the same time... Sorry for the rant, will get back to my game now :).
