Question about version number (bracket letters)

Hey everyone, me and my friend bought EU3 a while ago and started playing together. We have the same version number but no the bracket letters which I THINK is the source of our problem that we can't connect to each other. What is this bracket letters mean?

Or is that not the reason we can't connect to each other.

The checksum is what you're on about. Have a look in the EU3 multiplayer forum sticky, that should give you some more information on it.

Note that you will probably need to register your EU3 before you can post in the MP forum.

If you picked up the game at Steam, it's something I also ran into and managed to fix. See here (registration of the game may be required). In short, chances are that you'll have to re-download the game, manually deleting the files that remain after uninstalling the previous installation. But check that and other threads before you do any of that. The correct checksum for the un-modded game with all expansions is BJLT, by the way,

Awesome, yah I got it. I forgot I editted one of the events in my game so I guess that changed the letters so I did a reinstall and its working.
