QUestion about the different scenarios

Are they really different? Or is it just the "grand campaign" moved a few years and the starting countrie's positions changed to more accurate historically?

Or are there events in, say Age of Mercantilism, that are not in the Grand Campaign?

The answer to first question is Yes

The answer to the second question is No

However events that are supposed to happen after the start of the Age of Mercantilism scenario are more more likely to fire in that scenario than the Grand Campaign. This is because there is more chance of meeting there conditions.

Yes, later scenarios are much more likely to run historically (excluding human player interference of course).

For example if you want to play a histrical Naploean scenario better to use the one provided rather than the GC.
Also The american scenarios, If you want to play the USA, no way to do that other than set them free and change player to them. The USA hardly ever breaks free on it's own.
