Question about pre-order bonus Crusader Kings II

Newsletter said that as a final pre-order bonus there will be free copy of CKII. I already have CKII from Steam with all the DLC. So I was wondering if I pre-order EUIV, will I get separate CKII code which I can give to my brother or friend or is it tied to EUIV as part of same bundle so I can't give parts of the deal away?

Indeed you get it as a gift, you can apply it to yourself, or send it to a friend.

It's going to be a steam key (as far as I understand it, I could be wrong thou) so yes you can gift it. (just don't jump on the pony until Paradox have had the last word)

Would appreciate it if someone could confirm if both steam and gamersgate have the same pre-order bonus and if its a steam key I would be happy as it would be easy to give to one of my friends that I want to get in to the Paradox games.

Both Steam and Gamersgame have got the same pre-order bonuses, and given that EU4 is Steam-only I would assume that the free copy of CK2 is indeed a Steam key. I am in the same boat too, and of course my two friends who might'be been interested in CK2 have both pre-ordered EU4 aswell. Oh well, maybe my brother will like it.

I highly doubt that unless they said they were giving away CK2 collection. Pdox is pretty generous though especially with their free EU3 back then.

I was asking because i only have vanilla ck2. I don't know what i'll do with the new ck2 then.

Trade for its worth in DLC? Like lets say trade it with someone and ask them for lets say old gods?

I'm gonna try to trade it for an older PDS game (probably Victoria 2).

Its a base game that someone could play so it would be pretty tempting and I guess if I don't have it then why not trade it for some DLCs? But I guess you might get lucky if you find someone interested in it. You are also doing the world a favor by attempting to convert another person in to paradox games.

I'm gonna try to trade it for an older PDS game (probably Victoria 2).

Can't really think of how but try to find someone interested in the game and then if let's say they wanted to buy it then offer them to trade for it instead. I think vanilla goes for $40 so I guess you could ask for something around $20 (its already a tempting offer) or $30. I think now is the best time to try to look for people interested in it since Gamersgate is having most of the Pdox title on sale (I got Vicky 2 AHD, HoD and Sengoku for $20).

I'm also wondering: What happens when I preordered on Amazon.de? Will I get a steam-key mailed on 1st of August? Will I have to wait for the retail-version?
