I've played them in 1.3. the last time.
What alliances are useful and which are detrimental ?

- Granada is going to be allied anyways to contain Iberia
- Im torn with Crimea on the one hand, they might allow you to get an early foothold in the HRE. On the other hand Austria allied with France can be very costly to fight against and actually might set you back.
- Morocco same reason as Granada, but they need to be conquered anyways, so might be useless in the end.
- Timmies ?

Right now I feel like it is only worthy to ally Granada.

Granada and that's it. The rest you just conquer yourself.

And Granada is just to prepare diplovassalization and soften up the Iberians.

Crimea was a solid ally but they got nerfed pretty hard in 1.8.

Now they're small enough to force vassalize in one move, which can be a great starting point.
