If I build an Academy/Refinery/whateverelse in the most opportune province (capital/wine...) I'm promised incomeX2 (or something similar) from it.
But when it's built and I check it, I see it's income/2 !
Maybe a bug in the Italian version? (patch 1.10).
And most important: if anybody else has noticed this, do you know if the bug is only in "showing" me the manifacture income or is it in the "real" calculated income.
Otherwise I'll have to avoid building in the most opportune provinces!

hi Sherlock,

Let me take a refinery as an example. A refinery adds a certain amount to your monthly investment in trade. 2.5, i think. In Wine or Sugar provinces 5 will be added to your monthly trade investments.
So in wine and sugar provincs this is double from what your receive elsewhere.

Hey Sherlock, I think you're getting confused. A manufactory is worth 6 income but if it's in the right province, i.e. Sugar or Wine for Refinery, you will get 12. As for investment bonuses,
Fine Arts Acamedy gives 5 ducats per month for Stability
Refinerys are good for Trade (I think)
Goods manufactorys good for Infrastructure
Weapons " " are good for Land Tech.
And Naval Manufactories are good for Naval Tech.:D

The investment in research is always +5, no matter what goods the province produces. The extra bonus that the manufactory gives to the province income, however, is 12/year in the 'right' province but only 6/year in the 'wrong' one.

Conclusion of this is that building a manufactory at all is more important than building it in the right provinces, the main income of 60/year to research is the same no matter what.

They also increase the demand for certain merchandises, which is a good thing if you own many provinces producing tobacco or cotton. :)

Yes, manufacturies increase demand a lot. When playing Poland, I like to build a bunch of conscription centers to raise demand for food and wool. This raises the Gdansk Trading volume from 150 to an eventual +400 which is great anytime of the year.

Everything else was pretty well explained in previous posts.

i've noticed that, which is a nice bonus. but to build a raftload of conscription centres to boost up value of low value food and wool, you have to have a pile of money already. soo, another example of rich getting richer.

Not really. Three will cost you 750, which by this time will be less than any manufactury. Raising 750 is real easy, I don't know how difficult it is for some players, but even by 1530 with Poland, raising 750 to build a refinery isn't too difficult.

point taken, they are cheap.

i hardly ever build cc's as by the time i qualify in land tech to build them, i usually feel so secure that i don't need them. refineries are my first choice as i think trade level is more important than raising value of wool or grain commodities (even though poland seems to have lots of them). i also like the extra provincial income that they bring, which cc's don't.

i'll look into the cc's strategy next time i play i play a game through. maybe i am underating thier impact. thanks.

cc's

In EU2, cc's make a much greater impact, as you might know already (cheaper army), but in general I only build them with Poland... so if you were thinking of building them with Spain or England, they won't help out much at all.
