So I read the 62nd dev diary and saw that no other speicies' pop can exist in your hive mind empire, unless one follows the biological ascension path. According to said diary, the pops will be processed into food for the hive, which would probably correspond to the "Processing" extermination option mentioned in dev diary #57.
My question however would be whether it'd be possible for the hive mind to enslave other species pops as livestock, as mentioned within dev diary #57. Considering dev diary #62 implies that a hive would not be opposed to consuming other sentient beings, it would follow in my opinion that a hive should also be able to cultivate those other species as cattle for their drones.
As you can imagine, my hive shall consume the stars and all those who dwell among them!

My impression is that eating sentients mostly only makes logical sense if you enjoy the taste/experience like how we raise cattle because we like beef.

The thing is, it's terribly inefficient. A Hive Mind probably wouldn't care much about how the taste is experienced in the food fed to any one of it's drones.

I'm more curious whether we'd be allowed to simply displace the Xenos trespassing on new colonies instead of eating them.
Yes, eating them (or using them as compost or whatever) could be considered efficient but if it needlessly leads to other galactic powers being angry then it's no longer the most efficient course of action. Logically they would be angry about billions of their citizens joining the compost pile if they could instead have been allowed to pick them up.

My guess is it'll probably restrict the ones that you eat then by to one that will eventually fully purge the species, less their thoughts/ideals pollute the collective consciousness.

But we'll see. ^_^

I'm myself wondering what happens to another empire's population (that's in a hive mind) gets into your empire (also a hive mind).
Like there would be conflict, would that one pop disappear or get into the masses and become a drone of your own empire hive mind ?

( Drone A of hive mind A ends up in hive mind B with drones B ... will he become a B, or a Burger ? )

As I understand it, if a Hive Mind gains possession of another Pop with the Hive Mind, they pull an ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL!

Only purge via processing as food. Wiz said, that he wants HM to feel unique, so no slaves.
