Question about envoy

Hi. I have bought EU: Rome and really like it so far, except from that I don't understand one thing about envoys. In the manual it's written that you can play with the envoy but don't how. Can somebody tell me how?

VV or the original?

And yours or theirs?

In VV, you had to click on their province and then click the diplomacy button not in the main list. You will get a different menu that lets you choose an action and change which envoy you send.

If you wanna mess with the envoy they send you, then check your characters screen and look for any foreign characters. In VV there is a filter menu for that so you can see who is foreign characters in your lands and you can throw them in jail or assassinate if you like.

I'm not sure if its exactly the same in the other version.

I think I have the original version, not VV. Mostly their but also mine sometimes, have only so far seen the "assassinate" icon so far.
