Hello, in my recent England playthrough on ironman I let english civil war to happen around 1630, I've decided to side with parlamentarians and I've won civil war in 1636. And after and event that ends english civil war I'm supposed to get and event that allows me to restore monarchy, but instead, after 2 years in 1638 i got and election, I was busy fighting scotland so I randomly clicked on 1 of 3 candidates (diplomat one), and one it seems that I'm stick with republic because I read somewhere that I need to have less than 50 republic tradition or republic dictatorship goverment (I had, but it changed itself after civil war), but now I have more than 50 republic tradition and it's growing.
So will event trigger itself after a short while? Or am I stuck with republic? If so, can I somehow restore monarchy?
