What happens to the Papacy title when the schism is mended? Is there any chance that the Pope converts and becomes an Orthodox Bishop, or will he always be one of the characters who refuses to convert?

Right. My understanding is that when the events fire for the mending, Catholics are given a choice to convert to Orthodoxy or to become heretics. My question is whether the Pope is eligible to choose to convert rather than to become a heretic. Anyone know?
No. In the hypothetical situation that the Romans reconquer Rome and appoint their own Pope that followed their doctrines (which they did before they were driven out in 8th century), the bishop of Rome would lose most of his power and be subject to the Emperor. So it would not even make sense for the Catholic pope to convert, because you already have a Pope of your own, the Bishop of Rome.
