I am sorry if this has been discussed to death or if me posting this is redundant, but I'd like to ask a few questions on how exactly the De jure borders change

1. How exactly does the de jure expansion/contraction work?

2. Can Dutchies be subject to these modifications of their de jure teritory, for instance if I control the counties that make up the duchies of connacht, meath and lennister (all central ireland), but only the dutchy of connacht exists, would the other counties become de jure parts of connacht?

3. If I, playing as the king of Ireland, were to control all of wales, without creating the king of wales title, would the de jure parts of wales become de jure parts of ireland?

4. In the same context if I were to destroy the king of england title, would england be absorbed into ireland?

Thanks in advance! ;)

1. How exactly does the de jure expansion/contraction work?
Duchies can drift into a different kingdom if the holder of the king title controls all of the de jure counties that make up the duchy (it is fine for a vassal of the King to also control them). Kingdoms can drift into empires if the Emperor has the entire de jure kingdom under his control or has a vassal that controls it.

2. Can Dutchies be subject to these modifications of their de jure teritory, for instance if I control the counties that make up the duchies of connacht, meath and lennister (all central ireland), but only the dutchy of connacht exists, would the other counties become de jure parts of connacht?
Counties can't de jure drift out of a duchy, so no this wouldn't happen.

3. If I, playing as the king of Ireland, were to control all of wales, without creating the king of wales title, would the de jure parts of wales become de jure parts of ireland?
Yes, each duchy would drift into your primary title (King of Ireland). This would take 100 years (more if the duchies had already started drifting somewhere else beforehand).

4. In the same context if I were to destroy the king of england title, would england be absorbed into ireland?
Yes, if you controlled entire duchies in the Kingdom of England. If you hold both King of Ireland and King of England titles then no de jure drift from England to Ireland can happen.

Thank you for the info!

Is point 2 modable, or is it hardcoded?
I don't know for sure, but I suspect the answer is no, because I would think it would be a hardcoded game mechanic. Perhaps someone who has modded the game a lot will see this if you're lucky.

My apologies for digging up this thread, but I have a related question: If, e.g., I'm king of Scotland and create the kingdom of Ireland (so now I'm king of both), will the duchies in the kingdom of Ireland still drift to the kingdom of Scotland or do I need to destroy the kingdom of Ireland title first? And what if I also hold Wales? Is it possible for the Irish duchies to then drift into the kingdom of Wales?

The duchies of Ireland will not drift out in this situation. If you want them to drift, you would have to destroy the Ireland title.

How about the duchy title itself?
Does IT need to be created for the duchy to drift?
Can I have a duchy with 3 counts all swearing fealty to me, and the fourth count is the Duke (they ALL swear fealty to ME, the king), or must I have a duke hold all of HIS de jure territory (i.e., it's not enough for any combination of my vassals to hold the land).
