Question about CK2s DLC

I'm thinking about picking it up at the steam sale and I'm wondering what DLC is really useful. Seems like some of it is pretty useless while other stuff like Legacy of Rome might be worth picking up. I'm assuming Sword of Islam as well is useful.

I'm not sure about the ruler designer and I'm pretty sure most of the shield packs/song packs aren't worth the money.

Sword of Islam and Legacy of Rome seem to be the 'main' DLC with actual gameplay additions.

However, you should buy all the DLC to ensure that Paradox keeps making more. The flavor might also boost your sexual prowess.

Owning CK2 and most of the DLC did actually improve my sexual prowess.

Sword of Islam and Legacy of Rome are decent you need those 2 to play most mods.

also the mongol faces DLC is popular. personally I hate the face graphics ck2 uses.
I own all DLCs besides the last one (the atrocity, the one not to be named) the music ones are cool. especially if you have some blue coins spare to buy

You will want ruler designer, Sword of Islam and the Rome one to unlock all the mechanics currently open.

I do own all the DLC though and find they add to my immersion.

nope, they are OGG files so windows media player won't run them. You can always convert them to mp3 format or use other players like VLC though.
