I am playing the Grand Campaign(plain 1.08b) as England. When I changed my state religion to Protestant, Spain and Portugal canceled the alliance they had had with me. But just a few days later, Catholic Spain contacted Protestant England with an invitation to renew the Alliance which had existed before England's change from Catholic to Protestant. Is this realistic? Would something like this happen in AGC-EEP or Europa Portugalis? I ask because I am considering ending my game to try out either AGC-EEP or EP. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

So long as your relations with an AI country are even slightly positive they will be inclined to offer to form an alliance with you (assuming you're not already in an alliance). Thus, realistic or not, what happened to you is quite commonplace in the game. It is a hardcoded feature, and so applies to all mods as well as vanilla.

Yes, it is just how the core game acts, and it was not unknown in history that a Catholic power and a Protestant power teamed up.
