Hello!

I did not found any good video tutorial about it.

I want to create an agraculture area.
So I paint with the tool an industrial zone, marking it later as agrar area (traktor symbol).
Than I wanted to set down a farm house.

Yes, this is working, but after setting the farm house, it is an independent zone within my agrar area.
If I than want to built corn fields or whatever, it is said:
"Can not build, is not in the zone!"

What I overlook?

There are two district zone tool types.

The first is the base game version that lets you choose agriculture, oil, ore, and forestry. These you paint yellow RCI zones along your roads.

The second is the Industries DLC version that just makes an Industrial Zone, and then you plop down the building inside the painted district zone areas.

To use the DLC, you paint the district wit the Industries DLC brush, then you have to plop/place the Main Building - you will then be able to place fields and storage within the painted area.

I suspect from what you have described, that you are painting with the 'vanilla' brush which has no effect on the DLC Industry.

The Vanilla brush (the one you need to click on to set an industry) paints a district within which the zonable industry painted yellow, will grow as agriculture.
The Industries DLC brush requires you to place the Main Building to identify the zone as agriculture.

It still catches me out occasionally, so I try and get in the habit of painting an area with BOTH brushes so I am able to build a DLC farm, but still supplement it with growable agriculture industries in the same area.

Hi Toni82!

It sounds like you're using the regular district tool at the start to paint down the area, which is why you see a 2nd area appear when the main farm building is placed. Make sure you use the Industry Area tool to paint with - it's in the same menu as the district tool, but looks differently. Here's a picture highlighting the one you need.

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks guys!
Yes, indeed - it was this my fault of using the normal district painter.

Well, now off course I have other problems, maybe you could give me answers again?

1.)
The park/entertaining section with the private yacht harbour and beach coffee is only buildable at the water.
Normally so, but how to connect them with streets/ways?
For the Zoo section, there were Zoo ways available, but for the beach stuff?

2.)
Also, I have build a street with bus lanes, but I am unable to set a bus line on this kind of street.
Maybe because its up in the air?
Its a ring-street, encircling my complete city.
And yes, its connected with the lower (normal streets).

3.)
The trash sites, where the trash piles up to a little stinky mountain....
What to do if its full?
I clicked on the button "empty it", so the trash site is "out of order" now, but what is happening?

Thank you guys again, you are a great help ;)

Number 1: Normal roads. Are you on PC or a console?

Number 2: Yep, bus stops normally can't be placed on elevated roads.

Number 3: Put down a couple of incinerators. When your landfills get full, that's where the rubbish will go, and they'll also get rid of your rubbish automatically as trucks can take it straight to the burner. If you have Green Cities, the recycling plants are also great for garbage.

I am on PC.
Normal roads dont connect, cause "space already used" message.

2
Oh, thats sad but good to know. Will bring parts of the ring lanes down for the bus stops than.

3
Yes, I have Green Cities since yesterday and I placed already some recycling plants in the city.
Also my trash burning plants are working. Alright, I understand now better.

Yeah it's similar to zoning, but as long as the road is nearby the building connects, I find it's best to lay the road down first then put the building down.

I ask if you're on PC because I suggest you get NExt2, as there are some great pedestrian roads you can use instead for a better look.

Yep, place the road first - the building should snap to it.
2
Oh, thats sad but good to know. Will bring parts of the ring lanes down for the bus stops than.
You can use the elevated ring road on the route for the buses, just not place bus stops on it. Bring the buses down to ground-level for a stop and back up on the elevated road for travel - you can set up an 'express' bus route servicing 'local' bus routes.

Once you set the Landfill to 'Empty' the trucks all move the garbage to another facility - or will export it off-map. All trucks at the closed facility start shipping to the other facilities - incinerators are useful as they burn it away, recycling centres recycle it so when shutting a landfill, make sure there is capacity elsewhere to empty the trash to without impacting your cims.
