Queries on dh1.04 country file ...

My understanding of the new dh1.04 country file, is that instead of as in the past, needing to have skiffs (icons) for each country, I can instead now just set the table to any country, thus saving the need to have thousands of skiffs, sprites, unit images etc.

I have also searched in the misc.txt file for a switch for this, but did not find one.
It does not work for me, please see the table below:

I have only one set of skiffs for all countries, labelled model_x _x, so no country designation like model_eng_x_x.

So for ENG, I have sprite is ENG, unit image is ENG, icon is MIN, and model nationality is ENG.

ENG WORKS.

The ENG icon (skiff) is set to MIN, and shows up.

Yet the icon for ALB does not show up, the unit images does not show up .... and this is the same for other countries.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong?

To explain, I have a SOV set of sprites and a MIN set of sprites which cover most countries. ENG has an eng tank, so to get this to show up, I chose ENG for eng.

For ARG, the unit image is ARG, but the skiff does not turn up.

TRP uses this functionality in their mod and AFAIK there's no issues there.

If you want default (generic) icons to be used for a TAG, then just leave the Icon column empty and remove all icon files for that TAG from your mod.

UPDATE:

I have the single set of skiffs working now, as you say, I had to leave the column blank.

The unit model pictures for each country:

It appears if there are a lot of country-specific unit images, with no gaps, it works.

It appears if there are any gaps, it does not work.

Well some work and some do not work at all. ??
Maybe the very first model has to be there in place, and if not, it does not continue to search for any more models?

No, there's no such logic.

Well all I can say is that if I put ALB into the "model nationality picture" column or leave the column empty, my unit images for ALB, which are only a few, with many gaps, do not appear in the mod anywhere.

But other TAGS, with many unit images do appear.

So, I don't know why?

It isn't just ALB either, others with only a few images, are the same.

Before 1.04, before the header in this file was changed, any unit image for any country, gaps or no gaps, many images or just 1 image, would appear.

I dunno?

I changed alb to ALB and it started working.
