My only guess is that a Female Duchess too the title from the male King. Duchess of Toscona at the start of the 1066 scenario is my best guess.

You might be right, I never actually have had situation where there is strong female duchess and elective law at the same time in my realm. So I was just guessing.

About Mathilda of Toscana, are there any male characters with same surname, so she can marry one and have kids with same surname? Or is the random country cousin only way to secure dynasty. I have given some thought that I would play Italy game and Toscana would have best chance to get enough Italian land, so that I could usurp Italian kingtitle. And Mathilda was kind of cool historical character.

This thread reminds me of a text buglet which still exists in CK (Queen of of).
In text.csv line 146 needs to be altered from 'Queen of' to just 'Queen'.
