Combat, on a larger scale especially, can be annoying. I have some quality of life suggestions that will make it a little easier from an interface point of view (but not change anything balance-wise)
1. When sieging a province, allow the player to click the "assault fort" button at any time. If the army is still building siege equipment and cannot immediately assault the fort...clicking the button will queue up an assault action that will fire the moment all the equipment is built.
2. When clicking on a county and mousing over the 'raise liege levies' button, have a tooltip telling you how many soldiers you'll get by clicking. If the levies from that province have already been raised elsewhere, make the button more visibly greyed out to indicate that.
3. Have a toggle that allows you to select ONLY ships when doing a click-drag. This will allow you to mass-select navies even when you have tons of land troops raised. Also allow the toggle to be able to select both armies and ships if you so desire.
4. Have an 'auto chase' option for individual armies that will cause them to try and assault the nearest enemy stack. They will auto-adust their route based on where the enemy is trying to go and when they arrive. This will cut down on the 'enemy going to province a, send army to province a, enemy changes to go to province b, change army to province b, enemy starts heading to a again" dance that everyone hates.
5. Have an "Assign Generals" toggle button on an army that, when pressed, will instantly swap in your three highest-marshal generals who are not already leading troops elsewhere. If a general stops leading troops (due to death, moving outside realm or decides on his own to assign himself elsewhere) the game will auto-fill the next highest general in his place. In cases where generals have equal marshal skill, the game will favor generals with combat traits first over ones without.
6. Mousing over enemy holdings when at war will tell you how much % warscore they will be worth if you are able to siege them down. This will allow you to better prioritize your targets when on the offensive.
7. When you select an army stack and a navy in the same costal province, add a 'combine navies and board troops' button that will put all navies into one stack and instantly board the local ground troops, provided there are enough ships to hold them all. This will make getting your troops on the water much faster and less cumbersome, especially with provinces who naturally have enough navies to carry all their ground levies.
