The thing is this mouse wasn't a low quality one, at least I don't think it was. I'm just very much aware of the issue and that it can be annoying to spam click on its own sometimes and the alternative (the very slow incremental tick up) is tedious enough on its own. I couldn't really understand the reason for why companies want to port games like these or RTS games to consoles, but after seeing the results from both ends I feel like the result is a game that's unwieldy to play on consoles and lacks many of the quality of life features you'd expect from such a game on the PC (for instance, I haven't seen a reason to spam click this much since a game released in the early 2000's... and that was simply to increase resources you start with in a skirmish game mode in a system that wasn't even optimized at the time)

I wrote a relatively detailed paragraph in response to this, but it ultimately boiled down to: screw console gamers, strategy games are for PCs. I figured I might as well own up to my bias, so I cut out all my sophistry.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go complain about some other game not working as well on MacOS as it does on Windows.

Being a former PC gamer And now a console player. Im beyond thrilled to have strategy games on console. Use to have the same ignorant mindset as you until my PC was no more and don’t really have the funds for good PC gaming. Got my Xbox for $200 and never looked back. To say screw us shows your lack of intelligence when it comes to growing a business. For anyone to port such a game to console is a risk but Deff pays off. They are able to grab more players in an ever growing market. I’ve got more and more people hooked on this and skylines that honestly figured would of laughed it off. We are not all so fortunate to have a nice enough Pc rig I can’t wait to see what games to come. Hopefully something war related.

Trust me Jdogg, there's been console ports of RTS games... The way they have to be set up makes them less enjoyable in my opinion (mostly because you lose a lot of the ease of playing such games on PC and the setup's still clunky on console ports) and it requires sacrifices on the PC version that make it feel like people playing on both systems lose in some way. I'm not entirely against porting these kinds of games to consoles, but I feel that game developers need to set them up in a way that, in games that don't have multiplayer (or at least no cross-platform multiplayer) where it doesn't give any competitive advantage to anyone, PC gamers can keep a decent number of the quality of life features they've become used to for years until they figure out how to set up equivalent systems for console gamers. The current system of "just make it work on console and let everyone deal with it" that I've seen some companies use doesn't really sit well with me since the only people that win are the developers and their investors most of the time. Surviving Mars is an exception, but I hate the requirement to spam click on things that you have to do regularly (if you're not buying resources from Earth, you're building new drones or deploying them somewhere. Next time you build a Drone Hub, if you're on the PC version, see how ridiculous it is to build enough drones to get it to max capacity and then deploy all of them. This could be fixed by having the drone factory set to automatically produce enough drones to keep every hub at or above a set number on a slider, which anyone can benefit from)

Wow. That must have taken a long time to type on a console controller.

I agree and understand yalls point of view. Seems to hurt games having to have them stretched across multiple platforms. And yes novus it was extremely slow and painful. Just the way I like it
