To all those out there more knowledgable than me would I be right in assuming that if an English release misses Christmas it is unlikely to be released sooner rather than later ....??

An early Qtr 1 release of anything post Christmas doesn't strike me as making much commercial sense you'd presumably want then to wait towrads March / Easter etc....no.??

After all we can be kept waiting & waiting...we'll all still buy the game when it comes out everyone knows that

Johan,

Thanks v much for the reply

I agree, we all want to see the game released asap but nevertheless there are commercially critical dates no ?

Where is the business case for releasing something early in January .....retail activity hits seasonal lows hence all the New Year 'sales' drives...surely you'd hold back for a while unless your cashflows were such that you were desparate....in addition may U.S publisher not wish to see European experience over a period of time to adequately guage any trends

Only problem with that is that after promising that this game would be out Q4 2000 for all this time, to suddenly withhold it until March of 2001 would pretty much destroy all of Paradox's goodwill and a lot of the interest in the game as people just become fed up and prospects of ever playing it become more and more slim.

I would say it destroys more of the goodwill of the publishers that obviously sofar haven't shown the interest the game deserves. I wouldn't blame Paradox, afaik they are still trying their utmost to get the game to you asap, but they must consider their commercial intrest (which is linked to your hoped-for sequel).

greetings, Oranje

I agree that it could Vurbil though presumably ultimate sales would be little effected if the game is as good as i'm lead to believe. Theres nothing like a good end product to restore damaged goodwill.?!
