Smart auto-trading with filters and priorities per resource and country to import from, allowing players to tell their "trade ministers", if you will, what to import, from whom and in what order, enabling smooth sailing through those unpausable multiplayer games where players have hundreds of factories that would otherwise need incessant busywork in the form of near-weekly manual adjustment of trades.

I think all battle planner orders should be state-based like the garrison orders. Instead of drawing lines, you select states which you want to defend and/or attack (but you will only attack them if you're executing a plan). That would make it much easier to assign non-overlapping zones to different army groups, and make sure that these zones stay non-overlapping after some land changes hands.

Right now I sometimes use garrison orders to attack with tanks, just because having to constantly redraw battle lines is so infuriatingly tedious, and it makes me curse Paradox for not doing anything about this embarrassment for years now.
