Just remove it... completely.
If we must have it just use it before the first Priority Mission in Campaign Mode or before the 1st Jump off the starting planet in Career Mode. Otherwise, suppress it or at least add an option to suppress it.

It might be useful when you are just starting the game for the first time... THE FIRST TIME and it is only useful as a hint that checking the Barracks is a good thing. However, with the cost of a Mechwarrior's salary being what it is in Vanilla and the Argo's Training Pods plus Career Mode's Scoring being related to having as many Mechwarriors as possible using the Training Pods... the point of the warning gets totally lost. At a certain point in the game it is almost the opposite of useful. The constant nag sometimes suppresses my normal desire to check to see if anyone has XP that can

Just get rid of it, please :)

If anything, pilots should get an icon that indicates whether they have enough XP to purchase a skill node (assuming there are any skill nodes remaining). This icon should appear in all pilot lists (deployment and barracks).

I like this and would extend it to have a little star/icon of some sort to the left of any department that wants my attention.

For instance, if there is a mechwarrior (or multiple) that have enough XP to level up, put a little star to the left of the Barracks menu item.
If mechs need repairs, put a little star to the left of the Mech Bays.
If there are Engineering upgrades to perform (and I have enough money to pay for them), put a little star to left of Engineering.

Then I can see there is something there I have to do, but it is a passive notification, not a disruptive pop up.

(and please don't make the star flash :)

Yes, but not like 'one or more pilots may advance - check out yourself, who it might be (and roll back the list every time we level up so we have to scroll down again to look where we were last)
