The ACAs are back, as a new year is (already!) one fourth through! It is hosted under the supervision of me, your friendly AAR fan Nikolai.

This time around you can vote for any AAR that had an update between January 1st, 2021 and March 31st, 2021 (inclusive). In other words, this ACA will cover Q1 2021.

Voting will start now and end in about five weeks, at 20.00 CEST Sunday May 9th, 2021.

You may nominate up to four AARs for each of the following games:

Crusader Kings II
Crusader Kings III
Europa Universalis IV
Victoria II
Imperator: Rome
Hearts of Iron IV
Stellaris

and up to four additional games in the "Other" category, which includes all other Paradox Development Studio games not mentioned above.

(NB! I changed HoI3 with Imperator: Rome this time, as a quick look showed Imperator was a fair bit more active this time around than HoI3. These two keeps being hard to mark down!)

Kindly use the following format:

[Name of game/"other"]
1. AAR name, author, URL
2. AAR name, author, URL
3. AAR name, author, URL
4. AAR name, author, URL

If an URL has already been posted once, there is no need to put it up again.

The deadline for voting is 20.00 CEST Sunday May 9th, 2021.

With that said, it is now time for the voting to begin!

- Nikolai, host of the ACAs

Recently, the number of Paradox Games I owned increased to two! This means I have finally ventured outside of the Stellaris AAR forums and discovered that there's a whole website hiding out there.

Anyway, team Stellaris represent!

Since I have never done a link (see my signature), @Nikolai has granted me permission to proceed without links. I will start with the easy ones and end with my toughie:

Victoria2
'Concussion and Confusion' by @GangsterSynod A new fun read with an unusual choice of country.
HoI3

'Talking Turkey' by @Bullfilter 4yrs, over 300K views, over 3K replies Nuff Said?
'Der Adler, der Wolf, und die Sonne' by @Wraith11B Yes, I started reading just to list you here, but I will continue on once I get caught up on 'Talking Turkey'.
CK3

'The Legacy of Uhtred' by @Dunaden The Duchess is my favorite CK3 character and I will shed a tear at her inevitable demise.
'The Right Hand of the Karlings' by @alscon A guilty pleasure.
'History of the Holy Francian Empire' by @Nikolai I am always amazed at the size of your realms and the ability of your leaders to find the Fountain of Youth.
'The periplus of Hilal' by @LMaquiel Went beyond his initial vision, only to be felled by technical difficulties.
Thank you @Bullfilter and @Dunaden for writing in multiple genres and saving me spots in CK2.

CK2

'Road of Queens' by @Eurasia No other AAR has increased my enjoyment in my own games as much as this one. Basileus Niphon may be the greatest CK2 ruler.
He ruled almost 70 years from an orphaned child to elder statesman leading an empire and knowing every subject by name. I shed more than one tear at his and Lord Meow-Meow's passings. I can imagine that @Eurasia lost a trusted friend with the Basileus' death. His life spanned over three years in @Eurasia's writing.
'Before Plantagenet' by @JabberJock14 This may be the ultimate AAR! There are best selling novels less than half as well written. Yes, I shed tears over King Geoffrey, Agnes, Herve and even Queen Marguerite. I will shed more over Queen Elf and King Geoff (even if I sometimes want to lock him in his frat house).
'A Storm from the West' by @Kazanov This may be the ultimate mega campaign! An EU4 and 2 CK2s and only entering the 800s with a CK3 volume.
'Song of the Karlings' by @LPDK 356 I had the honor to be the first commenter and I feel like a proud uncle, every time I see a new installment or new commenter. Karloman and his mother will inevitably bring a tear or two.
There are easily a dozen more CK2 AARs that I could list for bringing entertainment to me.
To each writer who brought joy and enlightenment to my life, thank you.

To those I have read but I did not list, I am sorry but @Nikolai caps my choices.

To @Nikolai, thank you for the many hours that you spend running these awards. Please forgive me, if comments are not allowed.

He has made a decent start for a whippersnapper, give him a few more years and he might really get the hang of things.

(15 years, over 1 million views, over 6k replies). ;)

But enough of this, I had probably better get my vote in for this quarter.

Is that a subtle hint that I should add a 3rd HoI to my bucket list? Someone must have edited my post for I am sure that I had the tapestries in my top ten CK2.:D
