It's okay, it's been a while (January) and I cannot find the thread anymore, neither via this forum nor via Google.

Some of those past threads and "help-requesting" were probably more me, than Fox (though I know Fox contributed to the discussions).
Actually, using your "January" estimation of time, I was somehow able to find the thread (actually 2 threads that were somewhat on the topic).
I will post their links here, just in case some newbies find them useful. (Though it will probably confuse them more than anything. LOL.)

At least those tests explain how the city value increases more than the cost of the unique buildings upon placing them, and that equals a constant increase of the tax base. Of course, the associated running expenses make this mostly a wash, just on a different level, but that's okay.

/me looks at roughly 2000 assets he's downloaded, all of which are very very pretty buildings and parks...

Agree this is a city painter with a really engaging traffic management simulator. I just unlock all, go with unlimited budget, and make my city look the way I want it to look, wrestling with traffic all along the way. That's the way I play it, and I love it for letting me play that way.
