Another question about my current game. 769 start as Lombard count in southern Italy. My liege breaks the tribute from kingdom of lombardy and manages to create the kingdom of Sicily. He dies without heirs and my second character inherits the title (presumably as most powerful vassal, I wasn't related to him in any way, nor was involved in the events).
In the meanwhile the avars are converted by some French king to chalcedonian faith.
It turns out that only Sicily and the avars have autocephalous patriarchs, all the existing kingdoms answer to Rome. Why is that? I even border the papacy and regularly befriend the Pope etc (trying a good boy run this time).
If useful, tomorrow I can provide some screenshots.
Thanks

Paradox didn't bother to do anything interesting with assigning titles to various pentarchy seats and Plus hasn't changed that until now. Those kingdoms probably aren't assigned any pentarchy seat. Rest assured we are more than taking care of that in the rewrite.
