That's a tough one. One of my great-great-uncles was part of the Tsarist guards and he had to hide all of his life. He was hunted down and taken as he visited his family again in Romania in the 1960's. Trust me, when it came to hunting down parts of the old Tsarist regime, the reds prevented any possibilities of anyone claiming a crown.

Multiple "lost" monarchies still had strong monarchist parties and supporters in many countries, and even some longer standing democraties had monarchists within them. Those varied in power, influence, and size, but they included:

Of course, Paradox will probably not include them, but there's modders for that (although I doubt many would mod the installation of a monarchy in the USA, escpecially those that live in the USA).

I'd add Brazil to that list too. There is some reasonably loud monarchist sentiment even nowadays, and I'm sure quite a few Brazilian players will be interested in taking down Vargas' parafascist dictatorship.

Heck yeah! I would certainly hope so! It would make for another interesting dynamic in the far east and open more possibilities when playing as China.

We all know that there were still powerful pro-monarchist sentiments in Weimar Germany.Bringing the Keiser back, I mean his son, Wilhelm III, would not be such a huge stretch or a big problem for the other powers.

Even if the monarchy in Germany didn`t get overthrown, hell even if the German Empire made a stalemate with the Allies, the monarchy in the Reich would have become a parliamentary one as in the majority of the power is wielded by the parliament led by the chancellor and the Kaiser would be like figure head.

A more likely scenario would be a Chinese warlord attempting to make themselves Emperor (as Yuan Shikai had briefly done). AFAIK there probably wouldn't be much impetus for the restoration of a dynasty that had already been overthrown (and were foreigners at that).

Since China is broken up into various warring states at this period perhaps installing a particular appropriate Warlord as Emperor could be a potential goal of the smaller Warlord states.

For Nationalist China, Puyi seems the logical and legitimate choice. Yes the Qing Dynasty were originally foreigners, but after nearly 300 years of rule, they'd more or less assimilated into Chinese culture. Maybe if/when China gets its own national focus tree an option of restoring the Emperor could go down a path of restoring the Qing Dynasty or a new dynasty(insert national unity bonus and others...)

With regards the a Potential Chinese Imperial Restoration, for an institution that lasted 2000 years, a 19 year interregnum (1917- ~1936) is nothing.
