i can't wait to have it :D :D

sorry, but i have to ask it, partisans?? civil wars? how can be modeled? any new feature about that?

Been thinking abou this. You could define partisan "countries" e.g. Warsaw Uprising , Tito's Yugoslavia plus other non historical ones with very small (one-two province) minimums in revolt.txt. Then add events (possible random) to trigger owning countries to "grant" independence to the one province nation (like india in uk.txt) plus use the add division command to add a reasonable starting force (1-2 militia divisions) to the force pool. Add possible lend lease style events to represent allied or comintern support to add units. Force war between owner and "independent" nation

I think this could work for the major uprisings. For minor uprisings then just add events to decrease supplies / resources etc

Anyone want to try this out?

I agree! It's better to DO sex than TALK about it. :D :D

BTW let's stay in the patch topic.

Does anybody know if the owner/controller of a province will be displayed correctly in 1.03?

Any clue on how big the patch is? I have dial-up at home and a T1 at work. If it is a big patch and might be out today, I'll work late!

Well, too much invasive measures. Perhaps we can ask Paradox for a special patch to apply to our wifes/girlfriends, so that we can put them in some sort of stand-by mode while playing ;)

OK, I'm gonna stop with this OT writing.

- It is no longer possible to see enemy war fleets at see unless they are detected.

- Attacks on fleets will no longer start unless they get detected.

- Ships can now also do critical hits.

Yes, a great start to solving the naval elements of the game. One question - and I know we'll find out soon enough - does detection take place only in a sea area you have a unit in?

I'm also still not sure what detection exactly means, I don't think I've seen it play a role in the game yet.

- Rebalanced sub combat code and submarine visibility value to work with the new naval combat system.

I look forward to seeing this new system.

Ohh, interesting new front to the website, by the way. Its probably been up for a while but I have a direct link to the forums so I haven't noticed it. :)

Looks great.

I think the only issue I have is with
"- Naval Antiaircraft is now slightly less effective. "

Naval AA should be much much more effective.

Sure airpower was deadly to ships but those planes delivering said death suffered badly themselves.

Whole squadrons got shot down without scoring a single hit on their target(s).

Reinforcing air units is so cheap it's a non factor anyway but taking heavy loses keeps them out of action for bit while they recover org.

There's nothing about minister traits though which to my best knowledge doesn't work at all bar the resource industrialist one:\

Yes.

(However, neutral fleets are always shown.)

Yes and no. In the later years of the Pacific campaign the Yanks were able to take many Japs with AA but that was down to two reasons. Firstly they learnt to put up huge walls of flak and secondly, the kamikazes were flying straight at them.

However, I guess we'll see when we finally get to use the patch. If I recall correctly I do think naval AA was a too strong against aircraft.

Out of interest, I assume a plane's tactical attack strength against ground targets is reduced in poor weather, but is flaks?

Looks quite impressive. Guess I'll get back to some HOI and give it a try when it hits the download screen.:)
