I'm not prepared to invest 40 $ in a paradox game because of the somewhat chaotic post release development of CK2 and EU 4 and the DLC churning scheme. I will grab Hoi4 on a sale a few month after release.
No special icon for anyone who made a mod for HOI III and released at least one version of it on every patch and expansion of the game?
I didnt get bored, good old times![]()
Me and SAS disagree with youI don't think it's a good idea, just have one default hoi4 badge for them. Only promotes hugboxes and little mini forum elitism etc.

We're lobbying for a 100 icon, iconAre you and SAS going to do anything to celebrate hitting the ton?.
I agree with Totalbiscuit in general about pre-ordering, however [...]
I "kinda" agree with TB, and this sentiment, but up to a certain point. [...]

I think you completely missed the point TB was making. In the age of digital distribution, pre-ordering games is never in your interest.* By pre-ordering you are actively working against your own interest. Any pre-ordering, whether or not it is a good game is irrelevant, actively encourages this bad business practice to continue. Never pre-order.*
*Only exception which applies is if you don't have broadband internet and live in bumf**k nowhere with only 1 store selling games in the vicinity.
I don't think I fully understand what you are saying... Unless you are being altruistic, I don't see why you would want to support a studio through the pre-order model. Cooperation is fine, but it needs to work both ways. Pre-orders are a one way street. The consumer receives no benefit whatsoever, instead all benefits are accrued by the studio while the consumer is left with the risks. Unless you think the studio would not survive without your infusion of cash, there is no reason to give them money now instead of after release. The studio still gets your support, but the benefits and risks are shared. A much fairer exchange tbh. If it turns out to be a bad game, but you want to support the studio nonetheless? At least you'll know what you're getting yourself into. And you are only affecting yourself. Pre-orders and the bad business practices associated with it affect everybody.
I really don't understand why you'd wish to support a studio through pre-orders.

However, for things like this, for pre-ordering HOI4, I have a lot of faith in PDX at this point and would pre-order if it got me something extra.
Yeah I really hate it when new and free content is added to my games.I'm not prepared to invest 40 $ in a paradox game because of the somewhat chaotic post release development of CK2 and EU 4 and the DLC churning scheme. I will grab Hoi4 on a sale a few month after release.

I'm trying to think... Outside of maybe indies that are in perpetual alpha / beta, how many companies keep updating the exe and not charging people?
