Hi I usually don't bother with posting to forums but I've noticed a serious bug and no one else seems to be talking about and i have been able to replicate in no less than 4 separate games with 100% success. My buddy and I discovered that the purging mechanics have something seriously wrong with it; the game crashes within 30 seconds of starting or even interacting with a purge. even in multiplayer with only one party purging still resulted in game crash for that individual only. after the purge had been started and he crashed and reloaded back into the game, every instance he looked at the planet at any time during its purge, the game would hard lock and crash. This happened WITHOUT FAIL. Every single time we tried to approach with a new method ended in his game hard locking and crashing to the Xbox home. Even starting a new game and trying it with a new species still resulted in a crash 100% of the time. Game has been tried on a Xbox one X and one S and the results were the same. Didn't see it in the list of known bugs and no one is talking about it but i cant be the only one since i have been able to replicate it every time i have tried. anyone???

I Urge anyone and everyone who reads this to please give it a try yourself, i'd love to know if anyone has even had ANY success with the purge mechanic at all. Im not sure how i can link my game files from console to the forums but if thats possible then id do it. I know i can host a multiplayer lobby and freely show anyone who wants to join and see for themselves...

And what console are you playing on?See i Started A purge the universe playthrough too, but literally the first species i tried to purge caused a hard crash, and any time i tried to come back to it the game would crash within 30 seconds of examining any planet that was purging. Like I said my buddy has the exact same issue and none of our civics or ethics are the same,so i figured it has to do with the purging mechanics themselves.

This issue is also a problem for me as well, I own an Xbox One standard, and I have tried purging a primitive species inhabiting a planet, I did this to take their planet as my own without colonization process, but for me I happened to have successfully invaded their planet with no need for orbital bombardment and I made sure to set to purge status, afterwards I embarked my armies and everything went well, I could clearly see the date the species would be exterminated. However, after I embarked my armies and left the planet menu, I later decided (for a reason I don't know) to select the planet in the middle of being purged and check out the armies tab (despite no defense armies of theirs were present and my armies embarked). Upon doing so my game had crashed, I tried a couple of times of testing to see if it would continue doing it, even after game session restart (since it was multiplayer and I wasn't host) and it still persisted to crash. I have been unable to solve this problem on my own but I noticed that before I once did purge a species on a planet, and nothing went wrong there, no crashes at all. I'm really wondering why now of all times, but nonetheless I do hope that this issue gets fixed when the next update for Stellaris CE arrives, even if it's an easily avoidable issue in my case.
