I heard a valid comment about the late game having way too much money. I don’t wish to change any of the income generators or costs; I’d rather see another avenue to spend excess funds. It seems to me that monarch points (MP) are the real money of the game and we try to exchange or convert ducats into MP’s as much as possible. Here are some options to further this cause.
Option 1: Just allow a straight up conversion to buy MP’s for ducats. The cost is up for debate but I would think $20 to buy 1 point in any category of your choosing. No cool down timer, no limit, just purchase as much and as often as you would like. Maybe the price should increase over time like tech costs increase.
Option 2: Require an administrative building to be constructed in your capital before allowing option1. Maybe the building is unlocked after tech 10 or maybe make it high priced to prevent it in the early game. I would think a $5000 price tag would work. Make it like the university where it adds another building slot.
Option 2a: Allow an administrative building in all provinces ($500 each) and each admin building will increase administrative efficiency (1% or 2% each with a max of 20%). However, the admin building in the capital unlocks option 1 and costs $5000.
Option 3: Require a MP Exchange building. Any and all Nations that have constructed the MP Exchange building will have access to the MP trading system. This will not be effected by relations nor will you need to have discovered a nation to trade with them because you only trade with the exchange as the intermediary. The price of MP’s will be set by supply/demand with a floor ($2) and a ceiling ($20) per MP. The exchange will have a float of 100 MP’s in each category to start and will move between 0 and 200 supply with the price scaling from $20 to $2 respectively. If the player purchases MP’s, then the float will not increase until another nation sells excess MP’s to the exchange. This will allow MP rich Nations a way to get ducats to fund their armies. Perhaps to balance the programming, the exchange will reset to 100 supply every year.
