Puppets breaking free?

Will there be the option of breaking free by a war or otherwise as a puppet nation? The main nation I mean is the British Raj.

This should be possible, but it should be noted that there isn't any actual example of this taking place during the war. Instead:

• Allies switched sides (Finland declaring war on Germany in 1944).
• Puppets rebelled and switched sides (Slovakia going over to the Soviets).
• Allies effectively split in two (Italy in 1943).
• Puppets were effectively annexed (Vichy France in 1942)

I think that whatever system is in place should address all the above circumstances as well as the possibility of a puppet being set free by its colonial master in a relatively bloodless manner (e.g., Indian independence).

Are they? I thought it was only when the puppet suffers from a successful rebellion.
