Okay, Netherlands is a Sov puppet (we were given no choice, it and Luxembourg automatically puppeted when we conquered Germany). The Japs have the dutch far east. If the Russians invade these islands to free them, the Soviet troops will be "out of supply" because we can't be supplied through puppet territory right? So can not assist them in freeing themselves?

You could send over troops to Indonesia and give them as expeditionary forces to the Netherlands, so that they'll use your troops to fight Japan.
