I am Italy in Sept 1940. I am still neutral but have aligned with the Axis. I have puppeted Romania and Turkey. I turned down Germany's request to join the war but apparently my puppet Turkey did not. Turkey is now at war with the UK. I was not ready for war with the UK as I just annexed Spain and I wanted to attack Vichy France. My troops were totally out of position so I said no and started moving troops to Libya and Turkey. I did not find out Turkey was at war with the UK until I got the message that Turkey had enforced conquest on Iraq. What does that mean for Italy? I did not realize a puppet could go to war without me being involved. The puppet-owning state is supposed to get conquests of their puppets, how does that work mechanistically? Is there a button in the Turkey Diplomacy page I can do that from?

Thanks.

Yea, I figured out that annexing would have been better from a supply point of view a little too late. I would lose Turkey's military but gain a bit of IC, Leadership and it would make my African possessions non-overseas which would add a little Leadership as well. Turkey's resources aren't a whole lot to lose anyway.

Opens me up to an attack by Russia but helps with SR movement. I'll try annexing next time.

Puppeting Romania hasn't bothered me though as she gives me a good amount of things and has a big military.

I think pre TFH more quirky things could happen. Some are still around when the major event chain is broken, then it's anyone's guess because of player-actions.

Fyi, In TFH, A.I. Turkey is neutral and never does anything. And Turkey is not a good country to play because you can't get into the Allies and if you go Axis it will bonkers Barbarossa, because the Axis majors have an express-lane into Egypt etc.
Plus...I played Turkey once and I annexed Bulgaria and made Greece a puppet. I joined the Axis and it was not long before both Germany and Italy declared war on "my Axis Puppet Greece." The games event-chain seems to be carved in stone.

I had a gameplay as Bulgaria, and a puppet - Romania. The Romanians joined the Axis and declared war on SU together with Germany!
