Puppet China Builds Crap

I'm playing as Japan and I've established a puppet regime in China late 1938. All my puppet seems to do is build militia. I guess that's not a huge problem, I was going to use them as garrison troops and cheap cannon fodder anyway, but it's a little dissapointing to see my puppet with '39 infantry tech, unlimited manpower and 70 something effective IC build so much crap.

Will they continue to just churn out Militia? If so, how hard is it to edit the AI build priorities?

It's not that hard. But unless I'm mistaken, the changes you make will also affect the chinese AI behaviour before you puppet the country.

You must edit the ai build priorities in the save file for it to effect your save game.

That said, simply shift the percent of production devoted to militia, and more it to infantry or motorized.

As an alternative just save game and then load game as your puppet China.

Then que up the builds you want with long runs of infantry, or whatever.

Save game and then reload as Japan.

In HOI II it would keep whatever builds you had plugged in.

It will really help in making sure you get your Chinese HQ's.

While your in there you might even want to disband a ton of the militia to recover the manpower.

You might as well adjust your research techs while your at it.
